I am writing to give you an update on my personal health journey. I wanted to express my personal thanks for your prayers. Prayer was given for my health from around the world, and I am living testimony that it works.
Several months ago, I was diagnosed with Congested Heart Failure (CHF) and as a result, I lost my job and my supplemental income. As things developed, I was swelling (edema) and things were not improving. On July 3rd, I was taking care of a "bathroom" need and all I can figure is I momentarily lost consciousness and fell, hitting my head on the sink. The result was a 5-stitch gash that bled profusely and unless the Lord had helped me regain consciousness, I could have bled out. As it were, I was able to awaken (thank you, Jesus) and after several attempts, I was able to slow down and then stop the bleeding.
My wife was out of town. I called my son, Rob, who is a Physician Assistant, but he didn't answer. With the Lord's help, I made it to a chair in the family room and texted my daughter, Sharon. Understand, this was all between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM. She didn't respond either. I think that I must have fallen asleep and at 7:00 AM, my daughter came to the house when she found my text message. She cleaned me up some and took me to an urgent care center close by. They couldn't help with what they feared was a concussion, so they sent me to Mercy Gilbert (AZ) Hospital. I was immediately admitted and they sent me to ICU.
A male nurse came and stitched my cut and they put me in a room. I got worse. For the next four days, I hardly slept and didn't eat. They were feeding me interveineously. On that fourth day, my blood pressure registered 46/16 so they ordered a Pace Maker to see if they could stabalize my heart. They sent at least 12 consulting doctors to see if they could figure out why I was getting worse and not better. At that point one cardiologist suggested that they might just send me home, with my family instructed to "make me as comfortable as possible." Having been a pastor for over 50 years, I had heard families told that when their loved one was terminal and they couldn't help him/her any more.
My pastor (Apostle Robby Culbreath, New Vessels Ministries) came in and asked me a simple question, "Are you going to believe man's report or will you believe God's Word?" I said I chose to believe God's Word. He prayed, massaged my legs, and said to me, "you will walk out of here." He encouraged me to hold on to my faith in God's Word, regardless of what medical authority might say. Needless to say, I was in the battle for my life. Since they couldn't figure what was wrong, my cardiologist ordered my transfer to Mayo Clinic Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ.
I was transferred by ambulance and put in the Critical Care Unit. Then more specialists came in, from heart, to kidney, to stomach, to lungs, etc. Pastor Robby Culbreath (pastor where I am a member now) called to remind me to hold on to the Word. The MCH was able to reduce the edema, help me to start eating some solid food, and to recover some of my energy. A week later, I walked out of Mayo (well, almost - they took me to the door in a wheel chair and I walked to the car). Today, I am gaining energy, some weight (from the edema, I dropped from 185 pounds to 148 pounds), and I have walked into our church to the praise and welcoming rejoicing of the saints.
I continue holding on to the Word. My cardiologist is surprised, my renal specialist is surprised, my family is rejoicing (4 kids and their spouses, 12 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren), and I am writing this to encourage others. Doctors are only practicing medicine; sometime God allows us to get on our backs so we have to look up. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward (in heaven and on earth).
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Soul-winning is every Christian's responsibility and you even get blessed for it!
Testimony: Not to long ago, Dave, Chuck, and Jackie went to visit my son in prison. My son had written many many Christians asking if someone would come and visit him. He has been without a Pastor for several years now, and he has been without someone to fellowship with; the majority of those he had written to never responded back, and out of the many letters, my son has had only 3 Christian men visit him since 2007.
My son Adam, has had such a burden for Central New York for sometime now, and he has used this time to continue to fast and pray for this region. Adam, however was growing weary from being so alone and battling every day the painful battles of the mind of "no one loves you Adam......no one wants you.......not even God wants you......." Daily he kept pressing in prayer for this region nevertheless. When Dave, Chuck, and Jackie went to visit Adam, there already was a lot of other prisoners who were watching Adam's life, and could hear him praying throughout the night. What was so miraculous was Adam expected the usual maybe one hour visit, but instead they stayed all day, and then prayed for Adam........ And witnessed to Correction Officers! Adam was so encouraged that God sent not just any visitor but a visitor who is visible evidence that God hears the cries of His people and for Central New York! As a result, many prisoners lives have been touch for Christ; and some prisoners are now taking Bible Courses and getting training so when they are released they can go back to their areas and win souls for Christ.
" I want to just bake bread and make some good homemade soup, and then take the food to where there are homeless people that no one even knows about. Just give them some good food and love them, and share Jesus with them; they will listen I think to me because I was them!" said one prisoner who committed his life to Christ.
Even more incredible, Adam was supposed to go to Japan in his freshman year in high school, but his appendics burst and he could not go. Japan has been apart of his prayer life ever since!
Things for Adam and us do not always go well, in fact there are days where God's grace alone gets us through another day, but interceding for this region for many years and now being able to be apart of God's revival for this region is beyond beyond amazing! No matter what all of us have and are going through........... each SOUL is worth all that we have and are! Amazing results.......we standfirm.........and never give up......... no matter how many times we might be Knocked down or dragged around....... WE NEVER GIVE UP..... BECAUSE JESUS IS OUR SOURCE AND LIFE!!!! More so....We ARE the LIGHT of the world ...and we are Gonna Shine! Thanks Dave...Chuck....Jackie for touching our lives and keeping coals of our hearts burning with Hot Passion for Jesus and for SOULS! Blessings and Increase and Victory without end! Amen!
Forever Love,
Nikki Lynne
The flight was late, that in itself left open doors for a chinese grandma and 4 year old girl to join me in the sinners prayer. They found me later to get my e-mail and say thanks for me being special in Jesus. Dave, also led someone to salvation while waiting at airport. Sometimes God puts things on hold for another purpose. So the time has come, and I am here. I'm so blessed. Too blessed to be stressed. I am so glad to have come and tears of joy and sorrow for the Japanese flood my soul. The folks are so polite and enjoy receiving the news of the Lord. Many (teens included) will dig into their pockets and look for something to give in return. An older gentleman opened his bag to give us what he was taking home for dinner. So many are curious for the truth and welcome us and continue to read what we give out. The harvest is ready, must go and bring in the sheaves............... Call to arms, ... pray for Japan , and pray that i remain His obedient servant. Send out the workers, the time is now to take back our lands.
