WAR! WAR! WAR! Imagine it is Dec. 7, 1941. Japanese Imperial Navy airplanes have attacked the base in Hawaii and killed thousands of Americans in a sneak attack. Some of the men & women you even know are among those living on the base at Pearl Harbor. At this point, you and I along with countless millions would plunge ourselves into the WAR effort. “Right?” At this point there was no problem with the draft, everyone was eager to sacrifice their lives for Uncle Sam. Note, that before Dec. 7th, Europe was being ripped apart for 8 years by the Axis Powers. “Come and Help Us!”, was the cry of Europe. In Asia, for 10 yrs prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor Japan was “raping and killing at will” all that stood in their way. Millions were perishing all over the world, while the American public opinion was “isolationism.” In essence, we in America had our own problems to deal with.
We were a “sleeping giant” closing our ears to the cry of death. Note, that it took the Japanese torpedoes attacking our “backyard” to push us to become “Participants” in the WAR effort. Interestingly, it was also the German U-boat submarine torpedoes that sank the passenger ship LUSITANIA during WW I that pushed the American people to come and rescue Europe. Today is Dec.7, 2008 and still “the nations rage.” Christ tells us that there will be an increase in wars and calamity. The only peace that will come to this fallen world is the return of Christ (Matthew 24:14), and Him bringing about a new Heaven and Earth.(Rev. 21). We must continue to be about our Father’s Business. Today Japan remains the largest UnReached Peoples in the World with 1,722 cities crying out to see at least 2 Christian come to each town and bring the Life Giving Salvation of Jesus Christ. There are two option for you and me, “isolationist” or “participant” At SMI there are several people ready to GO OUT, yet supplies are needed. This year close to $10,000 was offered by SMI to help people to receive support on their mission trips to Japan, in which two churches were able to be planted this year. If you are not able to “GO OUT” to the front, please help to support other’s to GO and help establish the very first church among the 1,722 towns and cities.
